Where's the Money ("we," "us") makes documentaries about the money behind history's biggest financial disasters, and publishes free and paid guides that help people spot the same red flags in their own lives. This page explains what information wheresthe.money collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Email address, only if you type it into one of our signup forms to request a free guide, or if you buy the Red-Flag Kit or another guide through Stripe checkout.
- Which video sent you (an internal code, or "direct"), stored alongside your email so we know which guide to send and which video worked. It's a single hidden form field, never a tracking cookie, and it never leaves our systems.
- Basic, anonymous site statistics (page requests, country, browser type) kept automatically by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, the same way almost every website's host does. We don't use this to identify you personally.
- Payment details, handled entirely by Stripe. When you buy a guide, you check out on a Stripe-hosted payment page. We never see, collect, or store your card number, expiry date, or security code - Stripe handles that and is itself a PCI-compliant payment processor used by millions of businesses. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, your email address, and which guide you bought.
What we never do
We never sell your email address to anyone, for any reason. We never share it with advertisers.
How we use what we collect
- To send you the free guide or paid kit you requested, and occasional related emails - you can unsubscribe from any of these at any time, no questions asked.
- To know which video or channel is actually bringing people to a given guide, so we know what to make more of.
- To process your order and deliver the product you paid for.
Your choices
